Our Mission

 

 1.  To foster collaboration among test prep providers in an effort to promote, support, and develop the professional activities of test preparation providers.

2.  To share best practices, effective use of materials, and professional standards in the industry.

3.  To advocate for the appropriate administration and use of standardized tests for admissions and assessment purposes.

Code of Ethics

All National Test Preparation Association (NTPA) members are required to pledge adherence to the principles described in our Code of Ethics when admitted to membership and annually with membership renewal.

Members are expected to:

• practice within the boundaries of their competence

• avoid conflicts of interest and disclose potential conflicts to clients

• maintain nondiscriminatory, confidential and professional relationships with clients

• accept payment only for work performed

• represent themselves honestly and refrain from making disparaging public remarks about other NTPA members

Board members

A nationally recognized leader in test prep, Mike Bergin founded Chariot Learning in Rochester, NY in 2009 to deliver on the promise of what truly transformative, individualized education can and should be.

Mike is also the founder of the free testing and admissions answer site TestBright, co-host of the Tests and the Rest college admissions industry podcast and conference series, and creator of the Facebook industry group for test prep professionals, Test Prep Tribe. Lastly, Mike is the co-author of the Amazon bestseller Crash and Learn: Lessons in Business.

David Blobaum co-founded and leads Summit Prep, a tutoring company with two centers in New Jersey that specializes in preparing students for the SAT and ACT. He graduated from the University of Chicago with honors both from the college and in his major, and he received his Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology. In college, he took seriously the University of Chicago’s aim of a “Renaissance” or well-rounded education and took courses in 17 different disciplines, ranging from Statistics and Economics to Philosophy and Art History. Since then, he has devoted himself to helping students succeed through education and serves as the NTPA’s Director of Outreach to help highlight how academic standards can help students, schools, and society.

Brian Eufinger is the co-founder of Atlanta-based Edison Prep. With his wife, Silvia, the Edison Prep duo have tutored over 15,000 students for a combined 50,000+ hours for the SAT, PSAT, ACT, GMAT, SSAT, and SAT Subject Tests. They are sought after by school districts throughout the southeast to conduct out-of-state ACT/SAT bootcamps. Approximately 1/4 of their ACT Bootcamp students travel from other states to attend.

Brian graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis in May 2004. He is an active member of Washington University’s Young Alumni chapter in Atlanta, as well as the WashU Alumni Admissions Interviewer Program.

Aaron Golumbfskie is the Education Director at PrepMatters and has logged more than 20,000 hours of one-on-one tutoring. He continues to tutor every day, but he hopes to serve even more students by spending much of his time creating pedagogical materials and leading the training and mentoring of new tutors at PrepMatters.

While studying for his B.S. in Chemical Engineering at Johns Hopkins, he began an undergraduate teaching assistant program within his department that still continues. He also took advantage of many teaching opportunities en route to a Ph.D. from the University of California – Berkeley, serving as an instructor for subjects ranging from introductory chemistry to advanced statistical thermodynamics.

He spends most of his time outside the office with his wife, son and daughter. He also gets very cranky if he can’t do at least some recreational reading every day.

Michael Jordan is the president and founder of Michael Jordan College Prep, providing one-on-one test preparation and college application support to students in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and beyond. Prior to starting MJ Prep, Michael earned a degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas and worked as a high school band director in North Texas.

Michael holds his Texas Teaching Certification and is an Associate Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association. Aside from his career in education, Michael is a food enthusiast; you’ll often find him in the kitchen creating a new recipe or tending a smoker.

Pranoy Mohapatra, founder of PMTutoring LLC in central New Jersey, has been tutoring since he was a high school sophomore at the Academy of Health and Science in 2007.

After spending his undergraduate career at Penn State and completing one year of medical school, Pranoy determined that his calling was in helping others thrive academically. He created PMTutoring in 2015, and he obtained his masters in Healthcare Administration from Columbia University while building his company. He is strongly committed to helping students navigate not only standardized tests, but their own career journeys in an increasingly competitive and globalized environment.

Outside of academia, Pranoy enjoys spending time outdoors and is particularly fond of fishing. He also is passionate about cooking, watching football, and traveling.

Susan Powers is the Founder of Woodlands Test Prep, a company devoted to supporting students with test preparation, academic tutoring, and college essay coaching, based in The Woodlands, Texas, north of Houston.  Susan started teaching SAT and GMAT classes for Kaplan as a fun hobby in 1994, laying the groundwork for the founding of Woodlands Test Prep in 2011.

A 1989 graduate of Southern Methodist University with degrees in French and Finance and a 1993 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with an MBA in Entrepreneurship, she began her career in strategic consulting and mergers & acquisitions.  She is inspired every day by her team and the students they support.

Some of her other passions include traveling near and far, soaking in the mountain air, discovering emerging musical artists, and reading. So. Much. Reading.

Jason Robinovitz is the Chief Operating Officer of Score At The Top Learning Centers & Schools, a family owned group of tutoring companies and schools in South Florida. As team leader for a staff of more than 100 educators, Jason is in charge of strategic decision-making, including best practice policies, customer service, staffing, training, marketing, systems, and technology.

Jason is an active member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association, the National Association for College Admission Counseling, and the Secondary School Admission Test Board.

Jason graduated from the University of Denver with a BSBA in Finance and concentrations in Real Estate and Leadership. Three years later, he graduated from Emory University School of Law with a concentration in business and corporate law. Jason practiced medical malpractice law for five years before joining Score At The Top. He is an active member of the Florida Bar.

Bara Sapir, MA, CHt, CNLP, MSBR-T is an internationally recognized expert in high-performance coaching and personal empowerment. She has more than 20 years of experience teaching test prep, including six years as an instructor for The Princeton Review.

A pioneer in bringing holistic, human potential techniques to the study process, Sapir is Founder/CEO of City Test Prep, a full-service test preparation and tutoring company with offices in New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area. She is the co-author of The Full Potential GMAT Sentence Correction Intensive, published by Nova Press, and creator of the Full Potential™ audio series. She also developed MindFlow, a test-specific mindful speed reading workshop.

Sapir holds Masters degrees from the Jewish Theological Seminary and the University of Michigan, as well as certifications in Hypnosis, Integrative Life Coaching, Reiki, Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), Mindfulness (MBSR-T), and Counseling.

Amy Seeley is the President of Seeley Test Pros, a test preparation company serving students across Northeastern Ohio. After graduating from John Carroll University in 1993 with a degree in Secondary Education, she immediately began her career in test preparation working with The Princeton Review.

Amy turned her passion for test prep into a career at Townsend Learning Centers, where she assumed the role of Director of Test Preparation Services. Amy began Seeley Test Pros in 2006. She has helped tens of thousands of students achieve National Merit status, be admitted to highly selective colleges and universities, and earn lucrative scholarships based on high test scores.

Amy is the founder and co-host of Tests and the Rest: College Admissions Industry podcast. She has presented at national test preparation conferences and is a frequent contributor to the Test Prep Tribe. Amy is a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business program.
